The Generalitat de Catalunya has launched the Catalan Agenda for Conciliation and Co-responsibility, an initiative to promote a more balanced organization of time and foster equality.

The Department of Equality and Feminism has driven this national strategy aiming to facilitate the conciliation of work, personal, and family life, and to advance towards a more co-responsible society. The Agenda is conceived as a shared roadmap to implement concrete measures for conciliation and co-responsibility in companies, administrations, and organizations throughout Catalonia, positioning the right to time as key to well-being and equality.
This initiative addresses current social challenges such as population aging, declining birth rates, persistent gender inequalities in care tasks, and labor market changes due to digitalization. According to the department, the lack of time continues to disproportionately affect women, who shoulder the majority of domestic and care responsibilities.
The Agenda includes 55 indicative measures designed to improve the balance between personal, family, and professional life. Among the proposals are flexible working hours, promotion of remote work in certain situations, digital disconnection, support services for caregiving, training in co-responsibility, and the integration of these measures into the organizational culture.
Its development involved participation from various departments of the Generalitat, local administrations, unions, employers' associations, professional bodies, chambers of commerce, companies, and social entities, with the aim of creating a useful tool adaptable to the country's diverse territorial and organizational realities.
The Consell Comarcal del Baix Camp positively assesses the launch of this resource, noting its contribution to promoting a more equitable distribution of work and care time, fostering equal opportunities, and enhancing the well-being of individuals, families, and local communities. The Agenda serves as a reference tool for building more inclusive, sustainable, and co-responsible municipalities, organizations, and workplaces.
