The resumption of railway service on the R15 line, connecting Móra la Nova and Reus, occurred this Monday, more than three months after the interruption caused by storm Harry in late January. Despite the reopening, normality is still far off, as the section has eleven temporary speed limits (LTV) and the closure between Móra la Nova and Riba-roja d'Ebre remains in effect.
The first train bound for Barcelona departed from Móra la Nova shortly after 6:30 AM, followed by another after 9:30 AM. At Falset-Marçà station, the convoy arrived more than fifteen minutes late. Passenger presence has been sparse, with about fifteen travelers on board and only three people boarding at the last minute in Falset-Marçà.
The stations show a notable state of neglect. In Móra la Nova, the ticket vending machine is out of order and the posted schedules are outdated, although a digital screen correctly displays train information. In les Borges Blanques, the situation is similar, with tracks full of dirt and vegetation, broken benches, and a vandalized ticket machine. However, one of the tracks is being renovated, suggesting a possible future improvement.
The reopening of the R15 facilitates connection with Barcelona for residents of Ribera d'Ebre, Priorat, and part of Baix Camp. Nevertheless, users must transfer by bus at Sant Vicenç de Calders to Prat de Llobregat due to ongoing works in the Garraf tunnels, before being able to take another train to the Catalan capital. This situation also affects other Regional lines in southern Catalunya.
