Cal Massó in Reus will host next Saturday, July 25, a poetry recital titled 'Recital of Arnau and Schubert died of syphilis', featuring Adrià Targa and Eduard Olesti.

The event will offer two contemporary perspectives on the city, youth, human absurdity, and beauty in ugliness, exploring the feeling of longing according to the poet. Targa and Olesti will engage in a poetic dialogue about the journey towards one's own mortality.
This is the third activity of the Contradiction 2026 cycle, organized by the Department of Culture and Linguistic Policy of the Reus City Council. The cycle aims to bring Catalan poetry, combined with other artistic genres such as music, to a wider audience.
This year's artistic direction is by poet Maria Callís i Cabrera. Each performance includes a wine tasting thanks to the collaboration of Terra Cellars, from les Borges del Camp.
So far, the cycle has featured a recital with music by Glòria Coll and a musical conference by Joan Magrané. After the summer, the performances will continue with Martí Sales (September 26), Auró Vernet and Ria Dueñas (October 17), Jun Komura with musical accompaniment by La Francesssa (November 7), and Maria Isern and Chantal Poch (November 28).
In total, seven events will take place between June and November, enriching the city's cultural offerings. All sessions are free and open to the public.
