The city of Reus is set to host the 30th edition of Trapezi, the Catalonia Circus Fair, which will fill its streets and venues with a contemporary and committed program from May 13 to 17.

This Wednesday, May 13, marks the beginning of the Catalonia Circus Fair, known as Trapezi, in Reus, celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. The event will transform the capital of Baix Camp into a hub for contemporary circus, featuring over eighty performances, eight showcases, and the participation of sixty companies from Catalonia, Spain, and internationally.
Established as the most important circus fair in Spain and a leading event in southern Europe, Trapezi reaffirms its role as a crucial meeting point for artists, industry professionals, and the public. This edition presents shows that address current and socially relevant themes, such as motherhood, gender equality, and mental health, aiming to connect with audiences and project a renewed image of circus, moving away from traditional stereotypes.
Under the joint direction of Cristina Cazorla and Alba Sarraute, Trapezi will continue to be a showcase for all circus disciplines and formats, including indoor, street, big top, and cabaret performances. The Catalonia Circus Fair thus reinforces its commitment to the professionalization of the sector, support for emerging talent, international projection, and artistic diversity.
The inauguration of Trapezi will take place on Wednesday, May 13, at 5 PM, at the Centre d’Art Cal Massó. This year's program includes prominent international companies such as Collectif Malunés with Ki No Nagare, Cie Jessica Arpin with Siku, La Triochka with Topdown, and Compagnie Gaïus with Pan!.
Also featured will be established Catalan circus companies like PSIRC, Hotel iocandi, Circ Pistolet, and Toti Toronell, alongside national and emerging artists such as Àlex Duran, Juan Carlos Panduro, and Luichi Leal.
As usual, Trapezi organizes the Trapezi Pro Catalan Arts Conferences, a key space to foster collaboration among circus professionals and entities, promote new opportunities, and consolidate the Fair as a national and international connection platform. From May 13 to 15, these professional conferences will offer meetings, reflection activities, showcases, and networking spaces, including an international panel on funding models and the presentation of the national catalog of Circo a Escena.
