This year's call for Catalunya's Leader grants, promoted by the Department of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Food of the Generalitat de Catalunya and co-financed by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD), has now opened. The maximum amount for these grants is 7 million euros.
The 11 Local Action Groups (LAGs) selected for the 2023-2027 period are responsible for implementing the LEADER participatory local development and distributing these funds. CODEBEM, which supports rural initiatives in the Baix Ebre and Montsià regions, has 574,821.32 euros available this year for projects in these two counties.
The grants are aimed at individuals or legal entities, including micro-enterprises, SMEs, cooperatives, associations, foundations, and public bodies such as municipalities or county councils. The deadline for submitting online applications is September 30, 2026.
The LEADER methodology aims to promote integrated local development strategies through the active participation of local stakeholders, who propose actions aligned with the real needs of rural communities to define their future.
The main objective of the grants is to foster investments that generate economic activity and jobs, particularly for women and young people. Eligible actions include improving agricultural processes, creating micro-enterprises and SMEs, promoting tourism, conserving rural heritage, and providing services to people.
