The project involves the construction of a metal roof that will transform the area into a double sports court, classified as POL-2 according to the requirements of the Catalan Sports Council. The new projected completion date for the works is November 3rd.
The primary reason for the extension is the high temperatures recorded since the site survey was signed on June 22nd. The contractor, Taurus Renovables SL, requested the extension due to the extreme heat, which has necessitated limiting or suspending workdays to ensure worker safety and has hindered concrete curing, as per the project's Safety and Health Plan.
Despite these challenges, the contractor is proceeding with the design and workshop fabrication. The metal roof will cover 1,341 square meters with a minimum height of 5.72 meters for sports practice. Future phases may include perimeter fencing and the installation of photovoltaic panels.

Mayor Mar Lleixà highlighted that the new cover will address the growing demand for sports spaces from local entities, improving upon the existing open-air courts currently used freely by the public.
