Criminal offenses in Tarragona decrease by 2.1% in the first half of the year

Robberies with force in establishments and homicides decrease, but sexual assaults and cybercrime increase.

Criminal offenses in the Tarragona region saw a 2.1% decrease in the first half of 2026 compared to the same period last year, according to official data.

According to data from the Ministry of the Interior, robberies with force in establishments were the most common offenses, experiencing a drop of almost 8 percentage points. Intentional homicides or attempted homicides also showed a notable decrease of 32%. However, a 25% increase in sexual assaults with penetration was observed. Additionally, serious injury offenses and cybercrime rose by 9 points.
Regarding cities with over 20,000 inhabitants, Amposta has experienced a significant decrease in these criminal offenses, around 10%. Tortosa also recorded a decline, close to 2 points. At the regional level, Vilaseca and Reus are the locations where crime has seen the greatest increase.
