“"The 2026 edition focuses on how museums can be bridges that overcome cultural, social, and geopolitical divisions, fostering dialogue, understanding, inclusion, and peace worldwide."
Among the scheduled activities, there will be open days throughout the week, both in the morning and afternoon, and also on Saturday night. The program begins this Thursday at 6 PM with the event 'Antoni Casanova Estorach, from Tortosa to the pinnacle of art', a conversation between art historian Aleix Roig and cultural journalist Maria Palau about the painter's work.
On Friday, at 11 AM, there will be a guided tour of the exhibition 'Between two centuries', which explores the trajectory of artists such as Antoni Casanova, Francesc Gimeno, and sculptor Agustí Querol. In the afternoon of the same day, at 7 PM, the exhibition 'Between gazes' will be inaugurated, a result of the Generart mediation project with works by students from the Dertosa Institute's Plastic Arts Baccalaureate, offering a critical and feminist reinterpretation of 19th-century creations.
The highlight of the celebration will be Museum Night, on Saturday, May 16, at 10 PM, with a concert by musician Xarim Aresté, who will present his new album, Punt de creu. On Sunday morning, at 11 AM, the guided tour of 'Between two centuries' will be repeated, and a drawing workshop for children aged 6 to 12 will be offered by Paula Aguilera. The Museum of Tortosa has also joined the Apropa Cultura program, facilitating access to culture for people in vulnerable situations.
