The Rotary Club Tortosa has celebrated its presidential handover, with Jordi Pelejà taking the baton from Salvador Olivé, under the watchful eye of district governor Josep Maria Buqueras.

The organization, marking its initial years, held a symbolic power transfer ceremony. Outgoing president Salvador Olivé thanked club members for their involvement, highlighting the solidarity initiatives undertaken during his tenure. These included fundraising dinners for the Casa d’Acollida de Tortosa and the Red Cross, as well as selling products to raise funds against polio and organizing discussion forums on the elderly.
Jordi Pelejà, in turn, expressed his gratitude and enthusiasm upon assuming the presidency, emphasizing the club's commitment to the values of service and solidarity. He praised Olivé's work and described Rotary as a space for individuals with shared goals of serving society.

"It is an honor to represent a collective committed to the values of service, solidarity, and working for a better society."

A notable initiative will be the effort to promote the use of Catalan on the Rotary platform.
