The Tortosa City Council will approve next Monday the extension of the deadline for the parking lot works on the former Renfe land, which will be extended until October 13.

The company Also Casals, responsible for the execution of the works, has requested the postponement due to adverse climatic conditions. The high temperatures have particularly affected the execution of the concrete slabs, as the heat accelerates moisture evaporation and surface hardening, reducing working time.
According to the Tortosa City Council in a statement, the time dedicated to these work units has doubled. Furthermore, heatwaves have necessitated limiting working hours to ensure worker safety, as they cannot be exposed during peak sun hours.
The council also noted that it has not been possible to advance the start of the workday to avoid disturbing the rest of the local residents, following necessary preventive measures.
