The Generalitat budget for 2026 includes specific allocations to strengthen healthcare and promote strategic urban projects in Tortosa, according to the municipal government.

The approval of the regional accounts will allow for additional resources to ensure the sustainability of the city's healthcare centers. Specifically, 385,000 euros have been allocated to the Clínica Terres de l’Ebre and 353,000 euros to the Hospital de la Santa Creu de Jesús.
Furthermore, the project for the new Hospital Universitari de les Terres de l’Ebre, to be located in the Sant Llàtzer district, has been declared a priority. This initiative will be complemented by the expansion of the current Hospital Universitari de Tortosa Verge de la Cinta and the installation of elevators to improve connectivity with the city center.
Regarding urban improvements, the budget includes 300,000 euros for the renovation of Plaça d’Alfons XII. Other included projects are the master plan for the Catalunya Sud industrial estate, the rehabilitation of the old Synagogue, courthouse renovations, and various energy and climate adaptation improvements in educational centers such as the Dertosa institute and the El Temple school.
