The dream of winning the Catalan League Plata title has faded for Corredor Mató Palafrugell. The local team lost to Martinelia Manlleu by a narrow margin of 1-2, in a match that required extra time to determine the champion. The final took place on Sunday at the Palafrugell Skating Pavilion.
Vicente Daniel Soto opened the scoring for the home team, making it 1-0 at the end of the first period. However, Martinelia Manlleu quickly responded. Rubén Martín equalized shortly before halftime, leaving the score at 1-1.
With the score tied after the second period concluded, the championship was decided in overtime. Biel Humà scored the winning goal for Martinelia Manlleu, sealing the final 1-2 scoreline and awarding the title to the team from Osona.
Corredor Mató Palafrugell had reached the final after defeating Vicio PHC Sant Cugat 4-2 in the semifinals. Meanwhile, Martinelia Manlleu advanced by overcoming Club Hoquei Mataró 3-2 in a thrilling match that went to overtime and penalty shootouts.
