The operation took place last Wednesday and focused on two stalls primarily offering clothing and bags that mimicked well-known brands. The seizure resulted from the regular surveillance by local officers, who detected signs of counterfeit sales.
Based on these suspicions, the Local Police requested the collaboration of the Civil Guard. The operation, which began at 10:30 AM, involved six officers from each police force. The personnel were transferred to the Palamós command.
From one stall, 1,079 items were seized, mainly t-shirts from brands such as Lacoste, Ralph Lauren, or Calvin Klein, with an estimated value of 112,610 euros. From the second stall, 70 bags imitating brands like Goyard, Lacoste, or Louis Vuitton were confiscated, valued at 96,700 euros.
All confiscated material has been transferred to the Civil Guard facilities in Palamós, which will now initiate the relevant proceedings for an alleged crime against industrial property.
The Councilor for Security of Begur, Rafael Criado, highlighted the effective coordination between the police forces. Criado emphasized that continuous surveillance by the Local Police allows for the detection of irregularities and coordinated action with competent bodies, stressing the importance of prevention and collaboration to ensure legality in commercial activities.
