The Palafrugell City Council has once again been recognized among Catalonia's leading municipalities in digital transformation and open government, maintaining its position in the Top 10 for towns with populations between 20,000 and 50,000 inhabitants.

The council has reaffirmed its standing in the Open Administration Awards, presented by the Consorci Administració Oberta de Catalunya. The award ceremony took place last week in Granollers, as part of the eleventh edition of these accolades that assess the digitalization level of Catalan local administrations.
The awards are based on the Digital Maturity Index, an indicator developed by the consortium itself, which evaluates aspects such as the implementation of electronic services, digital management of administrative procedures, and the level of institutional transparency. This distinction highlights the work done by the Palafrugell City Council in administrative simplification and improving citizen access to digital public services.
This award consolidates a line of work that Palafrugell had previously seen recognized in earlier editions, including the years 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2024, and 2025. In this category, the municipality competed with other benchmarks such as Olesa de Montserrat, Sant Feliu de Llobregat, Manlleu, and Gavà.
The City Council affirms its commitment to continue working towards a more agile, accessible administration tailored to citizens' needs, by strengthening digital tools and public management transparency mechanisms.
