Palamós City Council has launched a surveillance and information initiative at the Castell Natural Space to minimize fire risks and protect the natural heritage during the summer season.

The initiative, operational during July and August, is supported by the Gavarres Marítima Forest Defense Group. This team carries out control and prevention tasks, ensuring a rapid response capacity for any fire-related emergency in this high-traffic area.
The information point, located on the path to the beach, serves a dual purpose: safety and outreach. Staff guide visitors on environmental values and available routes, while offering tips for preserving the area.
To support this work, an information leaflet has been produced with the help of the Girona Naturalists Association. The document highlights the features of the Castell-Cap Roig space and its biodiversity. The service is open from 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM.
In addition to their presence at Castell, the forest group extends its maintenance and prevention efforts to other parts of the municipality, such as S'Alguer, Pineda d'en Gori, and Cap Gros.
