This year's program will bring together various institutions, entities, and vessels linked to the maritime world. Among the confirmed presences, the Underwater Robotics Center of the University of Girona stands out, presenting its projects and autonomous underwater vehicles. The support vessel Sextant II will also be open for visits.
Another highlight will be the participation of the hydrographic vessel Tofiño, from the Spanish Navy, specialized in marine cartography and seabed studies. Visitors will have the opportunity to learn firsthand about the research and nautical map-making tasks carried out by this vessel.
Throughout the weekend, the public will have access to various open vessels, including the Maritime Rescue ship Salvamar Sirius, Civil Guard patrol boats, vessels from the Mossos d’Esquadra and Rural Agents, as well as fishing boats from the Palamós fleet dedicated to shrimp fishing.
The festival will also offer maritime excursions along the Palamós coastline with three different boats, allowing visitors to explore emblematic areas such as Palamós Bay, Cala Margarida, La Fosca, s’Alguer, or Castell-Cap Roig. Among the participating vessels, the schooner Äran stands out, a sailboat built at the beginning of the last century in the North Sea and originally dedicated to coastal maritime transport.
The program will be complemented with family activities, children's workshops, introductions to nautical sports such as kayaking, paddle surfing, or dinghy sailing, and rowing demonstrations with traditional Catalan 'llagut' boats. Additionally, the Espai del Peix will host live culinary demonstrations with recipes prepared using fresh fish from the Palamós fish market.
The festival will also include guided tours of the Fishing Museum, concerts, dance performances, and a craft market set up in the port itself. To participate in the activities, it will be necessary to purchase the festival wristband, priced at 6 euros, which will grant access to all proposals throughout the weekend.
