Five learners from the Volunteering for the Language (VxL) program and a technician were the protagonists of a colloquium on October 12th in La Bisbal d'Empordà, as part of the 'En català, sempre!' (In Catalan, always!) language day. The event took place at the Firal Pavilion.

Verlee, Ilham, Peter, Khadija, and Maria del Carmen, learners from the Volunteering for the Language (VxL) program, starred in the colloquium 'Voices of VxL: one conversation, many experiences'. The event took place on Monday, October 12, 2026, at the Firal Pavilion in La Bisbal d'Empordà, as part of the language day 'En català, sempre!'.
These five learners, along with Carla Barroso, Linguistic Normalization technician from the Office of Catalan in La Bisbal, were invited to introduce the VxL program to attendees. The colloquium was highly participatory, with questions from the audience directed at participants from Morocco, England, Flanders, and El Salvador.
For approximately one hour, the learners shared their experiences related to the program, learning Catalan, their places of origin, and their journey to Catalonia.
The event concluded with an intervention by Marià Sais, a VxL volunteer with many years of experience. Sais shared some of his experiences and encouraged attendees to join the program. This year, the program has welcomed a total of 42 pairs in the capital of Baix Empordà.
