The Palafrugell City Council has commenced the technical review phase for the 213 proposals received for the 2026-2027 Participatory Budgets, a crucial step before the citizen vote.

This stage, coordinated by the Open Government area, aims to analyze the technical, legal, and economic viability of each initiative. The purpose is to determine which proposals can advance to the final voting phase, scheduled between September 15 and October 15, 2026.
Municipal services have already begun working meetings with the various departments involved, starting with the Territory and Services to People areas. During this period, which will last until July 31, municipal technicians will verify if the proposals fall within the City Council's competence, comply with current regulations, and are economically and technically viable. Their alignment with the general interest of the municipality will also be assessed.
Furthermore, the City Council may merge similar proposals or contact their authors to clarify aspects and facilitate their evaluation. Initiatives that pass this assessment will be submitted to a vote by citizens registered in Palafrugell and over sixteen years of age.
The most voted projects will be incorporated into the following year's municipal budget until the allocated amount is exhausted. The 2026-2027 Participatory Budgets have a total allocation of 360,000 euros, of which approximately 300,000 euros will be for investments and about 60,000 euros for services, programs, and activities.
