A socio-labour training project for young people in vulnerable situations in Palafrugell has been recognized as a best practice and included in the Best Practices Bank for Local Governments in Catalonia for the 2025-2026 call.

The initiative, presented under the name "Prelaboral pathways for vulnerable youth. A response connecting training, insertion, and community," has been included by the Federació de Municipis de Catalunya and the Fundació Carles Pi i Sunyer. The Best Practices Bank collects and disseminates municipal management experiences that can serve as a reference for other local administrations.
The program offers young people a flexible itinerary combining training in personal, social, digital, and labour skills with individualized support and group work. Training has been developed in areas such as gardening, horticulture, carpentry, bicycle maintenance, painting, or cooking, aiming to facilitate an initial approach to the training and professional world.
Participants have improved their communication skills, continued their studies, or found employment. The project also addresses participants' personal and social skills and, in some cases, has supported administrative regularization processes.
Furthermore, the program encourages participation in community activities related to urban improvement, sustainability, and solidarity, with some young people continuing as volunteers.
