The event brought together professionals from various care settings to present research projects aimed at improving patient care. Two scientific sessions were held: the first, focused on research in primary care areas, addressed topics such as staff motivation, the impact of continuous glucose monitoring in diabetic patients, nursing management of acute demand, and oral health education in schools. The second session showcased winning projects from the Dipsalut-IDIBGI Scholarship, including studies on sexually transmitted infections, heart failure, histamine intolerance, and adapting physical activity to the female menstrual cycle.
A key moment was the commemoration of the 25th anniversary of the SSIBE Research Committee, with current and former leaders reviewing the evolution of the institution's research activities.
The invited lecture, delivered by Josep Vidal, coordinator of the Central Catalonia Research and Innovation Unit, was titled 'From AI to Clinical Value: Real Implementation Cases' and delved into the practical applications of artificial intelligence in healthcare.
During the day, the resolution of the fifth edition of the Joan Prat Clinical Research Scholarship was announced, awarded to the project 'Clinical and organizational impact of incorporating GFAP/UCH-L1 in mild TBI in Emergencies. iTBI-SSIBE Study'. The principal investigator is Germán Arese, a doctor in the Emergency Department of Palamós Hospital.
The 13th Research Day reaffirms SSIBE's commitment to generating and transferring knowledge, fostering research linked to clinical practice and aimed at the continuous improvement of healthcare.
