Palamós Hospital presented its new Medical Day Hospital on Thursday, November 5th. The expansion and renovation of this area have introduced three new individual cubicles; a dedicated area for oncological and hematological treatments; a zone for medical treatments in other specialties; and new workspaces for professionals. The project also included the humanization of waiting rooms to make them more comfortable and welcoming for patients and their families.
The presentation event gathered nearly 90 people, where Xavi Pérez, Director-Manager of SSIBE, thanked the solidarity of patrons, collaborating companies, entities, patient associations, professionals, and citizens. Attendees were able to tour the new facilities with guided visits.
The improvement of the space was made possible by the 'Com a casa!' patronage campaign, launched by SSIBE, which successfully raised a total of 185,294 euros. Contributions include the 2nd solidarity dinner (55,410 €), solidarity initiatives like Oncomusicfest, Correpoble, and Festijocs (34,944 €), donations from the Fundació Oncolliga (89,070 €), and contributions from individuals and entities (5,870 €).
During the event, SSIBE also announced its new patronage campaign, focused on improving spaces and equipment for childbirth care. The president of the Governing Bodies of SSIBE, Maria Puig, announced the 3rd SSIBE Solidarity Dinner in 2027 to support this new initiative.
The 'Com a casa!' campaign involved numerous companies, entities, associations, and individuals. Among the patrons are BigMat, La Fleca, Fundació La Caixa, Oncolliga, and Oncomusicfest. There were also major collaborators and corporate tables from various organizations.
