The Palamós Town Council, in collaboration with Aigües de Palamós (CAPSA), is intensifying the cleaning of storm drains in the most vulnerable streets to ensure water circulation ahead of upcoming rainfall episodes.

CAPSA operators, the concessionaire for the sewage network maintenance, are removing accumulated debris, leaves, and soil. Non-potable pressurized phreatic water, supplied by a new municipal well located at the Josep Massot i Sais sports facilities, is being used for this task.
This preventive cleaning is primarily focused around the Municipal Market, including areas of Catalunya and Onze de Setembre avenues, where water historically accumulates most during heavy downpours.
The Palamós Town Council and CAPSA have planned to potentially open the storm drains in these areas preventively if required during the announced period of persistent rain.

Don't throw anything away, the sea starts here

In parallel, the company CAPSA is promoting a public awareness campaign with the highlighted slogan, which aims to emphasize the direct link between waste thrown into public spaces or drains and the resulting contamination of beaches and the sea.
