The meeting, attended by the Secretary of Mobility and Infrastructure, Manel Nadal, and the Director of the Catalan Traffic Service, Ramon Lamiel, served to report on the processing status of the actions, resolve doubts, and address measures to reduce accidents. The meeting is part of the monitoring process driven by the Baix Ter municipalities and the citizen platform Prou Excuses, which in July 2026 demanded a follow-up commission with the Government.
The Generalitat detailed the progress on planned actions for the roads GI-631, GI-633, GI-634, C-31, GI-641, GI-642, GI-643, and C-252. One of the highlighted actions is the final approval of the project to build a new roundabout to improve access to the Les Dunes urbanization in Torroella de Montgrí from the GI-641, with an estimated budget of 1.6 million euros. The Government plans to tender it before the end of 2026.
The project to condition the GI-643 between Serra de Daró and Gualta has also been approved, with a budget of 6.5 million euros, including widening the section, improving the intersection at Gualta, and the Mas Bahí curve. On the same road, the section between Parlavà and Serra de Daró will also be conditioned with an investment of 7 million euros, widening the carriageway and creating new roundabouts.
Regarding the C-31, projects for widening and improving road safety, as well as urban integration, have been tendered for 430,000 euros, with an estimated investment of 10 million euros. Additionally, projects have been tendered for the GI-632 (between la Tallada and l'Escala, valued at 6 million euros) and the Colomers crossing (with a project of 150,000 euros). The roads GI-633 and GI-634 between Colomers and Verges will also undergo conditioning.
The Catalan Traffic Service has presented measures to reduce accidents, such as installing radars at crossings like Ullà and using mobile radars at the Verges intersection. The platform Prou Excuses has called for greater speed, pointing to 34 accidents in ten months, while Secretary Manel Nadal assured that 90% of the actions will be completed by 2028.
The mayor of Torroella de Montgrí, Jordi Colomí, positively assessed the progress, urging the maintenance of project processing pace and the fulfillment of commitments to improve road safety in the region.
