The new CAP Castelldefels Muntanyeta will open its doors on November 10th, consolidating primary care, city-wide pediatrics, outpatient rehabilitation, and mental health services for adults, children, and youth in a single facility.

The new healthcare facility, spanning 3,780 square meters and built on land donated by the Castelldefels City Council, will house a new primary care team managed by the Consorci Castelldefels Agents de Salut (CASAP). This center, which already manages the Can Bou CAP, will provide services in family and community medicine, nursing, sanitary social work, citizen care, dentistry, community emotional well-being, physiotherapy, dietetics and nutrition, and dental hygiene. It will be equipped with advanced technology, including 8 ultrasound machines, an electrocardiogram connected to the Electronic Health Record (HES) system, and dermatoscopes.
Furthermore, the Muntanyeta CAP will centralize all pediatric care for the city, forming a unified territorial team starting November 10th. This consolidation of services and professionals, which also includes the relocation of the outpatient rehabilitation service (currently at CAP El Castell), the Adult Mental Health Center (CSMA), and the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Center (CSMIJ), aims to foster cooperation and networking for more integrated care.
The launch of the new CAP will lead to an increase in healthcare professionals in Castelldefels, strengthening the municipality's healthcare resources. To ensure continuity of care during the transition, a dedicated citizen support service has been established at the CAP El Castell and Can Bou centers, which will also be available at the new CAP Muntanyeta from its opening day.
The construction of the CAP Castelldefels Muntanyeta involved an investment of 10,860,000 euros, covering both construction and equipment. The building is designed to maximize natural light and ventilation, incorporating strategies to reduce energy consumption. The architectural project was led by Albert Vitaller Arquitectura S.L.P., with project execution management by Rosselginer S.L.P., construction by Copisa Constructora Pirenaica S.A.U., and installations by Constructora San José, S.A.
