Forest management work for the prevention of forest fires has begun west of Can Sunyer i Valldaina, in Castellví de Rosanes, in a 12.5-hectare area between Serra d’Or and Lleida streets.

The work is part of the regional initiative Muntanyes del Baix and is funded and technically directed by the Diputació de Barcelona. The project, costing over 43,000 euros (VAT included), has been awarded to Treballs Forestals Presegué SL. The aim is to modify the behavior of potential forest fires to make their extinction more viable and increase the safety of residents.
The tasks, to be carried out from early November until the end of the year, include clearing undergrowth, pruning low branches, thinning pine stands, removing dead trees, and selecting the best oak and holm oak sprouts. Work is expected to be completed by December, although the duration may vary depending on weather conditions.
Forestry personnel will be working in the area for several weeks. The understanding and cooperation of the residents, as well as adherence to instructions, are appreciated, as access to the intervention area will be restricted while work is underway.
