The city of Cornellà de Llobregat is celebrating the 42nd Comic Show throughout November, an event that will fill various public spaces with exhibitions, workshops, and activities to promote the art of comics.

The 42nd Comic Show in Cornellà kicks off this November with a diverse program including exhibition halls, libraries, youth spaces, and other venues to showcase the creations of both emerging and established artists. In addition to exhibitions, the show offers workshops and activities in libraries, civic centers, high schools, bookstores, and markets.
The main event will take place on Friday, November 6th, at 8:00 PM, at the Castell de Cornellà, featuring the inauguration and awards ceremony for this year's Comic Contest. Following this, the exhibition of the winning and finalist works from the 42nd 'ciutat de cornellà' comic contest will be inaugurated, along with the exhibition “Racó de l’Ivà”.
Among the highlighted exhibitions are “DIBUIXANT NOVEL·LES” (Illustrating Novels) at the Museu Palau Mercader (November 8th to January 31st), which emphasizes the role of comics in popularizing adventure novels since the 1920s. At the Espai Cultural Frederic Prieto (November 2nd to 28th), visitors can see “BLACKSAD: UNA VERSIÓ ENTRE LES OMBRES” (Blacksad: A Version Among the Shadows), a tribute to Juanjo Díaz Canales's first album on its 25th anniversary.
Other exhibitions include “CÒMIC MADE IN CORNELLÀ: GIO” (Comic Made in Cornellà: GIO) at the Centre Cívic Sant Ildefons (November 6th to 27th), featuring works by the local winner from 2025; “És una bruixa? Mites, mentides i realitat” (Is She a Witch? Myths, Lies, and Reality) at the Biblioteca Central de Cornellà (until November 30th), exploring Raquel Gu's creative process; “La Joso Wall of Fame” at the Biblioteca Marta Mata (until November 30th), showcasing works by JOSO students; and “Càlams i vinyetes” (Quills and Panels) at the Biblioteca Sant Ildefons (until November 22nd), a dialogue between the shores of the Mediterranean.
The show also includes activities such as the workshop “Kawaii Drawing Cards” led by Èric Orias, on Wednesday, November 25th, at 6:00 PM at the Biblioteca Clara Campoamor (advance registration required). At the Institut Maria Aurèlia Capmany, the exhibition “Stop IA generativa” (Stop Generative AI) will be on display until November 30th, with a talk on Thursday, November 19th, featuring Marina Vidal and Laurielle.
