The AMB has launched an initiative to encourage the use of AMBici, the metropolitan public bicycle service, which includes Molins de Rei. Between September 16th and 22nd, citizens who have not yet used the service can obtain one of the 2,000 free 72-hour flexible passes.
To access this promotion, users must sign up on the AMBici app, activate the pass during the specified dates, and enter the code SEM2026 at the time of payment. The pass has a symbolic cost of 1 cent to validate the payment method.
As a new feature this year, users with an active annual pass will also receive two additional free trips during the week. The aim is to introduce the service and encourage the use of bicycles as a sustainable mobility alternative.
The AMBici service is experiencing significant growth. Between January and August 2026, over 1.7 million trips have been recorded, a 44% increase compared to the previous year. The summer of 2026 also saw a substantial rise, with nearly 640,000 journeys.
Currently, AMBici has 237 stations and 2,607 bicycles distributed across 15 metropolitan municipalities, including Molins de Rei. The City Council of Molins de Rei supports these initiatives to promote more sustainable and efficient mobility.
