The Castelldefels City Council launched a new mini-recycling center in the Canyars neighborhood on March 20th, located at the former newsstand in Plaza de la Estación.

This facility is the ninth of its kind in the city and will be open to the public every Friday from 4:00 PM to 6:50 PM. The initiative aims to make it easier for residents to dispose of small-scale special waste and prevent illegal dumping in public spaces.
The official opening was attended by David Solé, Second Deputy Mayor and Councilor for Cleaning and Waste Collection. This new point strengthens the local recycling network, providing a convenient solution for items that cannot be placed in standard street bins.
Residents can drop off items such as batteries, lightbulbs, aerosols, small appliances, and used cooking oil. The center also accepts coffee capsules, old clothes, and IT equipment, promoting sustainable habits across the municipality.
