The Cornellà City Council is committed to culture as a tool for social cohesion and participation, solidifying the city as a benchmark in the world of clowns. The program aims to bring culture to all neighborhoods and make it accessible to all audiences, viewing it as a shared right.
The festival, established in 1984, is one of the most important of its kind globally and a distinctive feature of the city. The 21st edition calls for protecting laughter as common heritage, considering it an endangered species that needs care and defense, and understanding it as an act of resistance and rehumanization.
This year's poster, created by Manu Vaquerizo Studio, reflects the idea that although laughter is said to prolong life, we laugh less each day due to haste, noise, and routine. Clowns arrive to rescue laughter and ensure its presence.
Organized by the Cornellà City Council and under the artistic direction of Alapista!, led by Jordi Juanet (Boni) and Silvia Compte Bustos, the festival will feature the circus tent at Plaça Catalunya as a central venue. Galas will be held there from October 22 to 25, showcasing prominent names in contemporary clowning and circus.
The galas will feature artists such as Claudio Carneiro, Mooky Cornish, Max Weldy, Cia. Seon, hosted by Las Couchers, with musical accompaniment by Tiger Kowalsky and Los Despedidos. The show is designed to move, surprise, and make audiences of all ages laugh.
