The new municipal plan, to be rolled out over the coming years, outlines six major areas of action: modernizing educational centers, renovating playgrounds, strengthening support resources, and focusing on emotional well-being and vulnerability detection. This initiative reaffirms the Council's commitment to making education a strategic city policy.
The Climate Control Plan represents the largest expenditure commitment, with an estimated investment of over 20 million euros to be executed from 2028 onwards, although initial technical studies began in 2024. The plan includes preparatory work, installation of aerothermal systems, air renewal, centralized ventilation, and photovoltaic panels to ensure thermal comfort amidst climate change.
The second major focus is the School Playground Transformation Plan, with an investment exceeding 5 million euros, aiming to create renaturalized spaces with more shaded areas, promoting biodiversity and inclusion. An additional 1.5 million euros is allocated to a Center Improvement Plan, which includes asbestos removal and accessibility upgrades.
Furthermore, the educational community will be strengthened through a Municipal Teacher Support Project, offering guidance and training, and the Open Family Classroom, a resource for parenting support with workshops and talks. Lastly, a new School Support Team for Social and Health will be established to identify at-risk situations and coordinate specialized resources.
