The first phase of the project, expected to last four months, will affect the sea side between Begues and Jaume I streets. During this period, Pi i Margall street will become two-way, with parking restricted only to the sea side.
As a provisional measure, parking will be allowed on the mountain side sidewalk, specifically between the escalators and Roger de Flor street. Furthermore, current pedestrian crossings will be canceled, but a safe alternative crossing will be enabled to ensure resident mobility.
“"Responds to residents' demands and will dignify this important axis of the city, especially the Can Tintorer neighborhood."
The reform, managed by the Barcelona Metropolitan Area (AMB) with an investment of 3.1 million euros, aims to transform the avenue into a safer and more accessible space. Improvements include widening sidewalks, creating 43 new parking spaces on Roger de Flor street, and incorporating a segregated bike lane.
One of the main objectives is the increase in green areas, with the planting and maintenance of 119 trees and the addition of 1,100 square meters of naturalized flowerbeds. The works will be carried out in five phases, with the final phase being paving and finishing touches.
