The municipality of Martorell, located in Baix Llobregat, will be one of the first in Catalonia to implement the new T-Social card starting in the last quarter of 2026, unifying transport titles for vulnerable groups.

The Martorell City Council has joined the implementation of the new T-Social card, an initiative promoted by the Associació de Municipis per la Mobilitat i el Transport Urbà (AMTU) aimed at modernizing access to public transport for the elderly and people with disabilities throughout Catalonia. This card will replace the current social titles issued by the council.

"This is a new project that groups all social titles and allows their use not only in Martorell, but throughout Catalonia."

The T-Social will integrate all municipal social titles into a single contactless card, fully compatible with the T-mobilitat system and valid across the Catalan territory. This development is supported by the Autoritat del Transport Metropolità (ATM) of Barcelona and the Department of Territory, Housing and Ecological Transition of the Generalitat.
The new system will simplify procedures for citizens and improve municipal management by eliminating obsolete magnetic systems. The card will have a minimum duration of five years and will include the option of adding an accompanying title, allowing a person to travel free of charge with the beneficiary, thus promoting inclusion.
It is expected that the 21 affiliated municipalities will begin distributing the first cards during the last quarter of 2026. The goal is for the system to be fully operational during the first quarter of 2027.
