On Tuesday, September 22, coinciding with Car-Free Day, the urban bus will be free all day. In the afternoon, a children's pedal car circuit and a popular chocolate event will be held.
The deputy mayor and councilor for Mobility and Citizen Security, Jordi Parent, highlighted that the initiative aims to encourage the use of public transport and alternatives to private vehicles.
A section of Amadeu Paltor street will be closed to traffic to host the road safety education circuit for children aged 6 to 12 years. The activity, starting at 5 PM, aims to teach children how to drive and experience decisions like yielding or respecting pedestrians, according to Local Police Sergeant Joan Crespo.
Emphasis will be placed on the importance of respecting traffic rules, protecting vulnerable users, reducing distractions (mobile phones, headphones), and the relationship between speed and accident severity, recalling the 30 km/h limit in Olesa's streets.
The program will conclude on Saturday, September 26, with the Portal Attack, a cycling race organized by the Unió Ciclista Olesana (UCO), combining sport, music, and a festive atmosphere.
The competitive race (classic and modern bicycles) and the non-competitive inclusive children's and adult race will begin at 8 PM.
