The PSC headquarters in El Prat recently appeared with graffiti stating: 'TRAITORS, CEUTA IS SPAIN'. VOX has condemned the vandalism, while also questioning the lack of a 'clear institutional gesture of solidarity and defense' towards Ceuta from local institutions in light of the 'serious situation recently experienced'.
The statement recalls the FEMP's call for a rally on September 2nd, Ceuta Day, to show support for the citizens of the autonomous city. According to VOX, this was an opportunity to convey a message of unity above political affiliations.
The party also pointed to previous positions of PSC and Comuns, such as their rejection of a judicial ruling that mandated a minimum of 25% of education in Spanish in Catalonia. VOX finds it difficult to reconcile these stances with discourses on 'coexistence and bilingualism'.
According to VOX El Prat, defending borders, national unity, and citizens' linguistic rights should be issues above 'left and right'. The party reaffirms its position: 'Catalonia is Spain, El Prat is Spain, and Ceuta, of course, is also Spain'.
