This academic year, 89 students from first and third grade of primary schools Vinya del Sastret and La Roureda are participating. The program runs from October to May at the Municipal Sports Complex. Each group has a weekly 45-minute session, with a total of 28 sessions planned throughout the course. Activities are adapted to the children's age and developmental level, aiming for them to progressively acquire aquatic skills and gain confidence in the water.
Of the 89 participants this year, 46 are students from Vinya del Sastret School and 43 from La Roureda School. To facilitate access to the activity, the City Council provides scholarships for families in need, aiming to ensure that all children can participate in the program.
Over the past two decades, NEPTÚ has contributed to promoting sports practice, motor development, and water safety. Through this initiative, swimming is consolidated as a learning experience that fosters children's autonomy and provides them with useful skills both in and out of the water.
