Accumulation of garbage on a street in El Vendrell.

The municipal group Fem Vendrell has created an email address to centralize neighbor complaints about garbage accumulation in the streets of El Vendrell, a situation they consider a public health risk.

Many garbage bin areas in El Vendrell, from urbanizations to coastal areas like Coma-ruga, Sant Salvador, and El Francàs, remain saturated with waste, with the surroundings full of bags and dirt. This situation, possibly due to a lack of bins or collection frequency, has worsened over the summer, coinciding with a higher population density in the area.
Residents from various areas have reported their complaints to different administrations, but the problem persists. In response, the municipal group Fem Vendrell, currently in opposition, has set up an email address (Femvendrellnet@gmail.com) for citizens to send their complaints and images.
Councilwoman Mar Vázquez explained that all this material will be sent to the Generalitat de Catalunya for appropriate action. Although waste collection is a municipal responsibility, Vázquez believes the Generalitat must intervene due to public health concerns.
Concurrently, a residents' group has recently formed, demanding a change in waste collection models, whether open bins or door-to-door, arguing that these systems have proven ineffective in areas with a high population of second homes.
