The Associació per l'Impuls Metropolità del Camp de Tarragona and the El Vendrell City Council have formalized a collaboration protocol to establish a stable relationship framework between both areas.
This agreement responds to the strategic position of El Vendrell and Baix Penedès, situated between Camp de Tarragona and the Barcelona metropolitan area, making them a key point for territorial connection in areas such as mobility, infrastructure, economic development, and planning.
The protocol will allow El Vendrell to participate in working dynamics, studies, and shared initiatives when there is common territorial interest. However, the municipality is not joining as an ordinary member, will not be part of the governing bodies, will not have voting rights, nor will it assume ordinary fees.
Both institutions will be able to jointly promote studies, conferences, debates, and projects, establishing participation mechanisms and shared funding formulas for these actions.
“
"The incorporation of El Vendrell strengthens the metropolitan vision of Camp de Tarragona and consolidates a project based on cooperation between municipalities to respond to shared future challenges."
“
"Baix Penedès and Camp de Tarragona share services, infrastructure, and dynamics for many years, and we do not want to lose these strategic relationships linked to healthcare, university, tourism, waste management, or mobility, among others."
