Various bodies and departments of the El Vendrell City Council, including Civil Protection, the Local Police, the Mossos d'Esquadra, and the Rural Agents, along with staff from Tourism, Culture, and Communication, have met to plan the necessary actions in anticipation of a large influx of people for the total solar eclipse.
The coastal areas are expected to be among the most crowded locations. For this reason, police presence at access points will be increased, new parking areas will be established, and some streets will be closed to traffic to manage mobility.
Furthermore, lifeguard service hours at the beaches will be extended, and public transport will be reinforced. A free bus service will be implemented to facilitate travel between the center of El Vendrell and the beaches.
The City Council has also distributed over 500 special eclipse glasses at various municipal points. Actions have been carried out in conjunction with local businesses and at different activities to inform citizens and answer questions about the astronomical phenomenon.
