Following the definitive approval of the project, the council has begun the procedures for contracting the company responsible for executing the works. This action is considered one of the most significant of the current mandate.
The project's funding, amounting to one million euros, includes a subsidy covering 75% of the total cost. The works will involve the comprehensive renovation of several emblematic spaces, such as Francesc Macià street, Immaculada square, Castell square, Pompeu Fabra street up to Casas i Amigó, and the section of Major street in front of the church.
In addition to aesthetic improvements, the project includes a complete renovation of basic infrastructures. A new rainwater network will be implemented, the sewage system will be renewed, and public lighting will be modernized. Service integration will also be enhanced through the undergrounding of intersections and the channeling of installations along facades.
The main objective of the City Council is to enhance public space, modernize services, and highlight the value of the historic center, making it more accessible, functional, and attractive for both residents and visitors.
