The 800,000 euros allocated by the Badalona City Council to the two editions of this year's Badabons campaign are expected to generate a minimum return of 2 million euros for local businesses. The discount vouchers, made available to citizens via the website badabons.cat, were completely sold out in just over two hours.
Citizens who purchased the vouchers can make purchases of up to 100 euros at participating establishments, paying only 60 euros, with the remaining 40 euros covered by the City Council. These vouchers can be used until November 22nd.
The mayor of Badalona, Xavier Garcia Albiol, highlighted the campaign's great reception, noting that it sold out for the second time in a few hours. He emphasized that, beyond direct savings for families, the Badabons represent an economic boost for the city's shops and restaurants.
For his part, the president of FEB-Pimec, Josep Maria Puente, stated that the success of the Badabons confirms the demand for measures that encourage local shopping and stressed the need to continue these initiatives to stimulate the local economy.
This year, the Badalona City Council launched two editions of the Badabons, contributing 400,000 euros to each for purchase subsidies. The total economic impact is estimated at a minimum of two million euros during 2026.
All information about the campaign, including the list of participating establishments, can be found on the badabons.cat website. Additionally, a physical information point has been set up at the Badalona Tourist Office (Francesc Layret, 78-82), open Monday to Friday, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
