The fashion show will open Barcelona Fashion Week, presenting a new collection created entirely from second-hand garments, featuring the creativity of Fermín + Gilles. A retrospective installation in the Open Area will review the five years of 080 REBORN and its journey from reuse to circularity.
Since its first edition in 2022, 080 REBORN has explored different approaches to reuse and circularity, including giving second life to recovered garments, denim and upcycling, counterculture, and literature. For its fifth anniversary, the project focuses on the journey of garments under the concept ‘Nomad’, asserting that clothing can circulate, transform, and have multiple lives and owners when cared for and reused.
During fashion week, a retrospective installation will be exhibited outside the venue, at the Marina Vela dock, showcasing the project's evolution over these five years, with concepts: Second Life (2022), Denim - Upcycling (2023), Counterculture (2024), Literature (2025), and Nomad (2026). This retrospective highlights how 080 REBORN has championed the value of second-hand clothing and the creative potential of existing materials.
As a new feature, the 080 REBORN Experience has been created, a raffle for design students residing in Spain. The winner, Lola Martí Gómez, had the opportunity to accompany stylists Fermín + Gilles for a full day to learn about the creative process, participate in fittings, visit the laundry process, and experience the backstage of the show.
With five years of trajectory, 080 REBORN has become a space to experiment with the possibilities of recovered clothing and bring circularity to the fashion world, under the slogan #makefashionlast.
