The initiative, which aims to support and provide visibility to emerging talent, has recognized Acceptance Letter as the winner, while Laura Cabanas and NMD Artwear were the finalist proposals valued by the specialized jury. The contest is a collaboration between the Department of Business and Labor, through the Consortium of Commerce, Crafts and Fashion, and the Rec.0 festival.
The jury, composed of Marta Coca Ortiga (director of 080 Barcelona Fashion), Marina Iglesias Valls (co-founder of Recstores), Manuel Bolaño (designer and professor), and Beatriz Furest Salieti (founder of BF by Beatriz Furest), evaluated the different candidacies.
Acceptance Letter, created by Jeakyong Sim, will have a commercialization and promotion point at the 080_La Galeria space within the Rec.0 in Igualada, from November 4th to 7th. This new space aims to highlight the creative and artisanal talent of the region. The winning brand was announced at an award ceremony at the Centre d’Artesania de Catalunya.
The Acceptance Letter brand conveys the joy of being chosen and the excitement of an opening world, blending cultures, materials, and silhouettes with a unique language at the crossroads of Seoul and Europe. The pieces combine traditional tailoring and artisanal work.
Finalists Laura Cabanas, from Lloret de Mar, focuses on an urban aesthetic with a Mediterranean connection, producing in small quantities, durable, and genderless pieces with her TRÄUS system. NMD Artwear, created in Valls by Damien Clatot, views clothing as a form of expression, combining design, craftsmanship, and experimentation with recovered materials and genderless pieces.
The Rec.0 festival, founded in 2009 in the industrial district of Rec in Igualada, transforms old factories into fashion and design pop-up stores twice a year.
