Various municipal services in Barcelona have reviewed the actions taken to mitigate the effects of the recent rainfall and the ongoing recovery efforts. The meeting of the Municipal Operational Coordination Centre (CECOPAL), chaired by Mayor Jaume Collboni, served to monitor the situation.
Barcelona Firefighters have responded to nearly 1,900 calls related to floods and tree damage, and supported the Generalitat Firefighters in Granollers. The Guàrdia Urbana handled 240 incidents. Both corps collaborated in the evacuation of seven individuals at Font del Gos, who did not require alternative accommodation.
Over forty technicians inspected 279 public facilities, including schools and nurseries, to ensure safety and the continuity of educational and extracurricular activities. Damage was noted in about thirty centers, but none compromise safety or planned activities for tomorrow.
Libraries affected by leaks, such as Jaume Fuster and Vilapicina, will remain closed tomorrow. Other facilities have reopened normally.
Regarding mobility, the L3 Metro line has resumed normal service. 169 city parks have been reopened, and efforts on tree damage and landslide areas are expected to be completed in the coming days.
Finally, a temporary accommodation facility has been activated at Dos de Maig to support homeless individuals affected by the storm, offering overnight stays, meals, and hygiene services for two more nights.
