The Consorci per a la Normalització Lingüística (CPNL) has offered 46,169 places in its own courses this September, a 6.6% increase compared to last year. This growth has been possible thanks to the incorporation of over 100 technicians, through the "Plan de xoc per a l'ensenyament del català a adults" (Shock Plan for teaching Catalan to adults) and, in Barcelona, via an agreement with the city council.
The registration period closed with 41,573 people enrolled in courses at all levels. Over 3,000 places were modified to better suit hourly needs, and synchronous and semi-synchronous online courses were opened, allowing over a hundred students to register. 96.5% of those who applied for levels A1 to C1 have secured a place.
In addition to its own offerings, the Department of Linguistic Policy and the CPNL are increasing courses coordinated with local administrations, entities, and organizations. These courses, funded by the Department, have already provided 4,635 places at A1 and A2 levels, bringing the total global offering for this quarter to 50,804 places between own and coordinated courses.
Registration data for the CPNL's own courses show growth in intermediate levels: B1 level courses increased by 25.7%, B2 by 11.6%, and C1 by 18.4%, indicating a continuity in learning progression.
Regarding the C2 level, the CPNL has opened 90 courses with 1,807 places this September, which will be expanded with coordinated courses with entities such as the Col·legi de Docents i Professionals de la Cultura and the Associació de Mestres Rosa Sensat. The C2 offering can be consulted on the Department's website.
