The event was attended by the President of the Parliament of Catalonia, Josep Rull, the Minister of Health, Olga Pané, and the Councilor for Health of the Barcelona City Council, Marta Villanueva.
Minister of Health, Olga Pané, highlighted that the EAP Sardenya "is a center deeply rooted in the neighborhood, which knows its community and goes far beyond healthcare, promoting community health and participating in the life of the territory". She emphasized its role as a climate refuge and its commitment to the Catalan language through the Linguistic Plan, stating that "being able to be attended in one's own language is also caring for them".
Over this quarter-century, the EAP Sardenya has been chosen as a Reference Integral Health Center (CSIR) among 126 primary care teams in Catalonia. This project, driven by the CAIROS committee, aims to reform and ensure the sustainability of the healthcare system, improving waiting times and access to specialists.
The center has also established an alliance with ONCE Catalunya for universal inclusion and accessibility, reducing technological and communication barriers for patients with severe visual impairment. Minister Pané positively valued this pioneering initiative among Catalonia's CAPs.
Throughout its 25 years, the EAP Sardenya has received various awards, including prizes for best short communication in emergencies, research in dependency care, innovative digital solution, and Corporate Social Responsibility.
