The Montseny Natural Park, located in the Catalan Prelitoral Range, is the ideal destination for a winter escape, offering rich biodiversity and numerous marked trails for hiking.

Montseny, spanning the provinces of Barcelona and Girona, is one of the most valuable protected areas in Catalonia and globally. Its ecological and cultural significance was recognized by Unesco in 1978 as a Biosphere Reserve, and later, in 2013, it received the nomination for Intangible Cultural Heritage.
Thanks to its mix of climates, the park, covering over 31,000 hectares, boasts unique vegetation that changes with altitude, ranging from Mediterranean holm oaks and pine forests at lower levels to oaks, firs, and beech forests at the peaks. This diversity makes it perfect for hiking routes, such as the circular trail to the Church of Sant Julià de Montseny or the excursion to the ancient Sant Marçal monastery.

Its forests and peaks offer the necessary tranquility to disconnect from the hustle and bustle of large cities, even during the colder months.

For adventure enthusiasts, Montseny is an excellent place to start climbing, highlighting the Soleia area in Sant Martí de Centelles (Osona) for beginners, and the walls of Les Agudes (1,703 m) or Turó de l'Home (1,706 m) for more technical classic climbing.
The natural experience is complemented by the local gastronomy in nearby towns like Aiguafreda, Viladrau, or Arbúcies, which offer restaurants featuring local produce. These establishments serve delicacies such as wild mushrooms, local cured meats, and farm cheeses, perfect for warming up after a long hike.
Access to the park from Barcelona is straightforward, either by car (about an hour via the C-33, AP-7, and C-35) or by public transport. The best public option is taking the R2N line of Rodalies to Palautordera (Vallès Oriental) and then connecting with bus 576 towards Montseny.
