The Employment Fair and the new Commerce Fair have closed their doors at the Montjuïc venue in Barcelona, following two days of activity that drew nearly 14,500 visitors. The events, promoted by Fira de Barcelona and Barcelona Activa, have reinforced their public service role for citizens and the economic fabric.

The Employment Fair saw the highest attendance, solidifying its position as a key event for employability in the city. This year, it doubled its exhibition space and organized content into thematic areas to provide more specialized responses. The Commerce Fair, in its inaugural edition, was well-received, confirming the synergy between these two professional gatherings.
Throughout the two days, workshops, conferences, and advisory sessions experienced high participation. Over 100 companies and entities presented nearly 1,200 job opportunities. More than 2,000 interviews and 5,000 advisory sessions for candidates were conducted.
The Employment Fair offered over 160 activities for diverse profiles, including sessions on professional skills, continuous training, and the use of Artificial Intelligence in job searching.
Within the fair, the second ABOQ Conference (Barcelona Agreement for Quality Employment) was held, titled 'Building Quality Employment'. The meeting brought together 130 institutional representatives, experts, and organizations to discuss competitiveness and labor inclusion. The ABOQ agreement now includes nearly 90 organizations.
The Commerce Fair debuted as a meeting space for the sector, featuring sessions on generational succession, digitalization, and new consumer habits. Workshops and debates highlighted the need to strengthen the competitiveness of local commerce and the opportunities related to business transfers.
Barcelona Activa organized the 'Commerce that Activates Barcelona' event for beneficiaries of support programs. This event, part of the legacy of Barcelona's European Capital of Local Commerce 2026, emphasized generational succession and digitalization.
The concurrent holding of both fairs strengthened the link between business talent needs and professional opportunities, underscoring commerce as a source of employment and entrepreneurship. The next editions are scheduled for October 20 and 21, 2027.
