President Salvador Illa defended the new autonomous financing model this Thursday during the closing of a business forum at the Palau de la Música in Barcelona.

President Salvador Illa closed the forum 'The entrepreneur in a changing world', organized by Banco Santander and La Vanguardia at the Palau de la Música in Barcelona, where he stated that the financing system agreed upon with ERC and the Central Government is the best achieved in the last twelve years.

"Catalonia remains solidary and does not want any privilege. The proposed system is a solidary model that reduces inequalities across Spain."

Illa rejected the criticisms, especially those from the PP, recalling that his detractors “did not solve it when they were governing.” He added that while the system can always be improved, the reality is that “there is one here after twelve years.”
The event featured prominent business leaders and politicians, including Carlos Godó (Executive President of Grupo Godó) and Ana Botín (President of Banco Santander), who inaugurated the day. Also present were the Minister of Economy, Alícia Romero, and the Minister of Business, Miquel Sàmper.
