The Bombers Museum of Barcelona hosted the official presentation of the 27th Vueling Bombers Barcelona Race, scheduled for this Sunday. The event brought together institutional representatives, organizers, athletes, and members of the fire department collective to share the details of the race.
The Councilor for Sports, David Escudé, highlighted that 16,000 people will participate in the race, with 91% from the province of Barcelona and 40% women, a figure that reinforces female participation in this event.
With over two decades of history, the 10-kilometer race combines sporting challenge with a popular character and a close link to the Barcelona Firefighters. Of the participants, 60% are men, and the average age is 36, with the predominant age group being 30 to 39 years old.
The 10 km route will start and finish at Avinguda del Marquès de l’Argentera, passing through major avenues such as Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes, Passeig de Colom, and Via Laietana.
The race maintains its solidarity commitment with Bombers Solidaris, enabling participants to set up fundraising challenges for non-profit organizations. Speakers at the presentation included David Escudé, Sebastià Massagué (Head of Civil Protection Service), Anna Viladot (Vueling's communication director), and Mauro Llorens (race organization representative).
Elite athletes Clara Las Heras and Bakr El Asri Mohsine were present, underscoring the competitive level of the race, which also offers opportunities for runners of all levels.
