The Generalitat de Catalunya has authorized a direct grant of €1 million to the Fundació Julio Muñoz Ramonet for the renovation of Torre Avenir, which will become the future headquarters of the Catalan Film Academy.

The grant, to be awarded for the period 2026 to 2029, will enable the adaptation of the building to house the headquarters of the Catalan Film Academy, under a space cession agreement managed by the Foundation. This initiative is part of the institutional collaboration between the Generalitat de Catalunya and the Barcelona City Council.
Once the works are completed, Torre Avenir will become a fully operational cultural facility aimed at enhancing the projection of the Muñoz Ramonet heritage complex and promoting cultural activities of general interest. The complex, which includes the Palau del Marquès d'Alella and Torre d'Inés Fabra, is cataloged as a property with elements of interest (category C) and is subject to protected private green space designation.
Torre Avenir, in a classical French-inspired style, retains original features such as stuccoed facades, the main staircase, the monumental interior staircase, ceramic tiling, and a Catalan vault roof. The Direcció General del Patrimoni Cultural considers that this action contributes to the conservation and enhancement of a property of high architectural and cultural interest, promoting the reuse of a heritage space for national cultural purposes.
